How to get version control working for you, not against you

A360 Version Control

Version control is integral to an organized project, but as many of you know, it’s not always the easiest task. In fact, it’s not just one task; version control is an ongoing hassle.

We know the drill: search, download, work, upload, repeat, but it doesn’t have to be that way.

Search, Download, Work, Upload—Repeat

Downloading, working on, and re-uploading the same file to a shared location with a detailed naming structure is tedious when you simply want to add a markup, make a comment, or need to download a file to show a colleague.

When uploading a file after making changes, it’s common to second guess the version number to assign or forget where you’re supposed to save the file. This process is prone to human error.

A better way

What if actively controlling versions wasn’t something you had to do? Imagine not worrying about what version of a file you’re working on, but knowing, with 100% confidence it was the most up-to-date one, by default.

This is how A360 users feel every day: confident they’re always working on the most current version, and secure knowing they can access older versions quickly and easily without digging through files to find them.

The ability to comment and markup files eliminates countless iterations, so you’re making more impactful changes before you upload a model.
